Redheads in the Bluebonnets: Austin Child Photographer

Oh my goodness! Can you imagine anything more precious than red hair and freckles? I melted when I had a chance to work with Emily and John. Emily is a natural in front of the camera and though John was a bit shy at first, he warmed up and was soon having fun. It was…

Project 52 [Twenty-Twelve]: Week 10 ~ Beautiful with Personality

This week’s theme from My Four Hens for Project 52 is personality! My oldest child, Jenny, now 20, has always had a huge, exuberant personality. I can remember her being two years old sitting in the shopping cart chatting up the checker and the customers around us… within just minutes, a quiet, grumpy line turned into a chatty,…

Self… Portrait, Pity, and Introspection

This is an all about me post. I’m not very comfortable talking about myself most of the time and I rarely get in front of the camera, but I am pushing myself this year… creatively and emotionally. Sarah Wilkerson, CMPro, mentor, admin, and COO of Clickin’ Moms, is hosting a self-portrait challenge on the CM…

"Professor" - Nice photo! It reminded me about the times I took photography class. Now I am doing digital and 99% of my pictures are including the mechanical assemblies’ auto repair stuff and document reproductions.
I still keeping my film camera but pretty sure I will not use it.
I had some background experience related to thyroid imaging therefore I like to share some ideas.
It is not unusual for nodules to calcify, but microcalcifications similar to the snow flakes should warrant more investigation.
The sample was bad most likely due to the blood contamination (this probably caused swelling afterwards); so the ultrasound must be done under Doppler color flow to dodge blood vessels.
Some doctors are very enthusiastic about Afirma molecular testing used on the questionable biopsy sample to r/o cancer. I would like you to read about this test.
Best.

angela king - beautiful photo. truly. i really don’t have any suggestions or advice for you. it seems as if all kinds of bad stuff is happening to you and it’s so very easy to be down on ourselves but please remember that none of it is “your fault”. not that that makes it any easier. i hope things get better soon. big virtual hugs and well wishes heading your way.

Holly - Thank you for the information about the Doppler color flow and the Afirma molecular testing, Professor!
Angela, I so appreciate your support. You are such a kind soul and your words mean a lot to me. <3

Katherine - No words of wisdom. Just support and hugs. Keep marching forward one day at a time. Life is hard. No one tells us that. Sometimes we get too many things thrown at us at once. It is not fair.

In my instance, I have a daughter who had cancer diagnosed at 9 months of age. Turbulent times. Uck! Somehow you find the strength to keep waking up and living all the while hoping tomorrow will be better. I think that is the key. . . hope. (Yes, I am an introspective person too. . . tough times will do that to a gal!)

On another note, thanks for the self-portrait set up info:) As one mama photog who never gets into a photo, I think this is something I need to do.

Rebecca Spencer - Everytime I read your blog I think the same thing – why don’t we live closer to each other? 4800 miles seems so far when I just want to come over there and give you a big hug x
