Anna read a book before bedtime tonight and I was able to record it on my iPhone and post it to YouTube. I’m such a proud mommy! Reading is one area of her academics that has continued to make progress, though slowly, over the years. This particular book is one of her favorites.

So I made it through the first week of summer with the kids home from school. It was not the best week of our lives but we can check week one off… only eleven more to go. Life would be so much easier if I could have happy children. They go through phases. Last summer…
(((HUGS))) I completely understand the worry space and I love how you described it. I can’t fathom my plate being as full as yours. I have a 2nd grader and a soon to be 1st grader. What an awful experience for your son and you! I feel so strong about early education needing to be a positive experience-I understand your concern. I pray that you two can come out on top and very soon! The location you found is gorgeous. I especially love your 5th image the one of the shore across the way-beautiful!!! I hope week 2 of vacation is a good one

Beautifully written as ever Holly, you have such a way with words and pictures too. Sounds like a tough week, really hope it gets better soon. You make sure you take some time for yourself, there is a lot of talk about helping other’s in your posts but you need to put yourself first sometimes. Consider yourself told my friend or I’ll be on a plane over there to sort you out! xxxx

Anna competed in her very first Special Olympics competition last Friday and she did great and had a ton of fun! For her age group, she entered the individual skills soccer competition which is comprised of dribbling, shooting, and the run and kick. Many school districts were represented and the individuals were separated into heats so…
Way to go Anna, a medal! What a fun and special day!! Holly, you captured the pure joy in her face in your first picture
This brought a smile to my face! She looks so happy!!
It was soooo cool getting to see Anna and her medal via iChat! Way to go, Anna !!!!
I love the photograph of the hug from big sister…perfect!
These are just adorable Holly, I can feel your pride as I look at them.

I first took Anna to an endocrinologist in the fall of 2009. Her behavior was all over the place and since we were seeing signs of premature puberty (Anna was 8 at the time), Anna’s neurologist suggested we see Dr. Scott, a pediatric endocrinologist. We ran some tests and discovered that Anna’s bone age growth…
Oh Holly. I am so glad that you have answers for why she was off. BUT, I am sorry more meds have been added to her regimen. I really hope that they work for her and you see a decrease in the ill effects the hypothyroidism was causing. Hugs to you and Anna both. Good luck with the EEG. I absolutely dread doing them. Sophie handled the wires and glue pretty well last time, but was very anxious about going to sleep in a strange place. It took her quite awhile and they were about to give up. I told them NO WAY are we giving up…they needed to wait longer. They already had all the wires hooked up and I wasn’t putting her through that again. They did wait, and she eventually fell asleep…but OY was I nervous. Keep us posted on how Anna is doing. Hope her tests in 8 weeks come back much more normal. HUGS
Aww poor Anna what a deal to have to go through. Is there any type of milk substitute she can have? or do they all have iron and calcium?
I have to get Umar’s thyroid tested every year. And I would not be happy if someone had to poke him three times to get blood. So can’t blame you there.
Glad you have some answers although it may fill you with more worries.
Mama bear, I hold you and your family to the highest praise for having to go through so much. You know God is smiling down on Anna everyday, seeing how much she is growing, despite these circumstances… she will grow up one day to become a beautiful, fearless woman. I keep you all in my daily prayers. You are all very blessed. Stay strong pretty lady.
You are a Mommy Warrior! She is so lucky to have someone that loves her like you.
Wow… so much going on. But I am glad that you have a diagnosis you can work with.
Your words really got to me-I’m sitting in a puddle of tears. (((HUGS))) for you and your daughter! You may be feeling mommy guilt right now, but I can tell from your words how much you love her and that you are an amazing mother! I can’t even begin to imagine all that you go through. I see so much strength in this post! You also have a special gift when it comes to photography. The relationship you captured of your mom and daughter in this image is beautiful. Its such a sweet image! What blessing to you and your daughter to have her so close to you. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
You are a trooper! I am sorry you are going through all of this…it will only make us stronger, right? (Joey has a seizure disorder, and it has gotten worse since diagnoses, I totally understand some of the management aspects and tests you are have to undergo, especially piecing the puzzle together)! I pray things get better for her and that the eeg is as peaceful as it can be!
I want to thank each of you for taking the time to write to me. I’ve come back to your words many times today. I really appreciate the support and encouragement. Thank you seems trite, but thank you. <3
Ah Holly, so sorry that Anna has been having such a tough time. falling asleep at odd times is my first and foremost symptom of something wrong with my thyroid meds.
I will say that I take .75 and wait 1 hour to eat, but I have calcium in that first meal. I was told, and I hold to this – that as long as you are consistent – one hour to eat and then have that milk in the morning – that you are fine. Your meds will adjust to your schedule/vice versa. You just can’t take the med with calcium. Take the synthroid the same way, every day.
You can also try some rice or soy milk and see if she can adjust to that.
((hugs)) I’m sorry you have this to deal with now too.
I also have hypothyroid and we’ve chased my TSH levels a bit. she’ll feel so much better once it’s under control.

Welcome to my new home! I’ve been thinking about doing this for a long time. Keeping up with Elusive Tranquility, Digital Star Design, and my photography project blogs has been a challenge. As my photography skills and goals continue to grow, I wanted a place to invest myself… something all mine where I could share…
Congratulations on your new site. I’m beaming with pride!
Beth - My Meghan (who also has PDD) *loves* Max & Ruby, too. I can relate to your pride…This is a BIG deal! Way to go, Anna!!
