366 in 52 [2016] ~ Week Nine

I’ve been editing Paris pictures like crazy and I have one day left to do. Hopefully within a week or so, I’ll be able to post about our grand adventure! I shot a lot of Dominic this week (you’ll see why in a bit) and this coming weekend, Jenny and Chris are going to visit, yay! It’s been a busy week… Anna turned 15 yesterday!!! There was a lot to do to get ready for her birthday.

Day Fifty-Seven ~ Sick Day

Dominic has been having a lot of stomach issues lately. He’s always had stomach pain ever since he was itty-bitty. We had him checked out when he was 6 or 7, but the only thing they discovered was that his kidneys were adult-sized with an extra lobe at the top (which have caused no issues). The past couple of weeks he’s had a lot of severe pain and urgency, and on Friday, he actually threw up when he got to school. So… I brought him home and set him up on the couch to rest.

Day Fifty-Seven ~ Daddy’s Home

Curtis finally got to return home from Europe after being there 12 days and Dominic (and I!) were especially happy to see him. I think since Dominic was feeling puny, he needed some Daddy hugs to feel better. I know personally, I didn’t stop hugging Curtis until Monday morning when he had to go back to work. 😉

Day Fifty-Eight ~ Claw Machine

Saturday afternoon, the family went out for a late lunch. Dominic was feeling a little better, but still didn’t eat. I’m 100% certain he was not contagious, so I let him play the claw machine at our favorite Mexican food restaurant, Herbert’s. As always, he did not win anything there. Bummer. But he so much enjoys playing, it’s worth the loss for the fun.

Day Fifty-Nine ~ Pokemon Red

Dominic picked up his DS again after not being interested in it much lately. He started playing Pokemon Red, old school.

Day Sixty~ Peas in a Pod

Running errands on Monday, I grabbed a bag of snap peas to snack on. Near the end, one of the beans was split and I saw these adorable peas nestled inside. I knew I was going to have to get out my macro and play. Aren’t they soooo cute???

Day Sixty~ About to Snap

Being outside photographing the peas, the light was so pretty, I stopped by my raised planter garden and saw that the snap dragons are budding. I’ll shoot them again after they bloom. Spring is here!!!

Day Sixty-One~ Doctor Visit

Dominic was still not quite right with his tummy, so I decided it was time to see the pediatrician. She is running all kinds of blood panels, looking at food allergies, celiac disease, gluten intolerance, irritable bowel syndrome, thyroid panel, metabolic panel, and a CBC. We will get that done soon. She also referred us to a pediatric gastroenterologist. Whew. I feel like we are on the right track.

Day Sixty-Two~ Birthday Call from Chris

Happy 15th Birthday, Anna! One of the highlights was getting phone calls from relatives for her birthday, but her favorite was when Chris called… her brother-in-law! It was so sweet of him to reach out to Booski, it really made her happy. Thanks, Chris!

Day Sixty-Two~ Nana’s Wrapping

My mom always wraps the family’s gifts for holiday occasions, she loves doing it. I adore the colors and theme of Anna’s presents this year. Didn’t she do a great job?

Day Sixty-Two~ Nana’s Chocolate Cake

Mom also makes all of our family birthday cakes every year. This year, Anna wanted a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting (homemade)… it was four layers and soooo delicious. I’m glad some is still in the kitchen right now. 🙂

Day Sixty-Two~ Favorite Gift

Soooo… I’ve mentioned before how Anna becomes obsessed with shows and characters, right? She discovered Sheldon Cooper and The Big Bang Theory on Saturday. Sheldon is all she can talk about, giggle about, and dream about. She is in love! I found an ornament on Amazon that actually speaks. It was by far her favorite gift.

Day Sixty-Two~ Making a Wish

Make a wish, Booski! I wish for you less physical pain, a real friend, a boyfriend, less “brain flu,” and more laughter. I love you so much.

Day Sixty-Three~ Blood Draw

We got the blood work done that Dominic’s pediatrician ordered. I hope it gives us some answers. He was amazing, no complaining or even wincing. It was a lot of vials!

Thanks for looking! Coming up will be a visit from Jenny and Chris this weekend, a birthday party for one of Dominic’s friends, a doctor visit for Anna and myself, and a visit with the kids’ psychiatrist in Austin. Looking forward to spring break soon!
