2nd Annual Giving Thanks and Giving Back Winner!!!

Thank you for the referrals and nominations for the 2nd Annual Giving Thanks and Giving Back photo session for a family who has a child with special needs. I meant to post the winner on Saturday but had a sick child, so I appreciate your patience. I am so excited to announce the winner of the photo session…

Shannan Rojas!

Shannan, please contact me at holly@hollyanissa.com so that we can schedule a time to meet. I am very much looking forward to meeting your child and your family!!!

For those who were interested but did not get chosen this time, please know that I am a volunteer photographer for Inspiration Through Art (formerly known as The Littlest Heroes Project) which is an organization that offers free professional photo sessions to families who have a child (or children) with special needs or illnesses. Those sessions are offered March through October. You can apply HERE. Eligibility for an ITA photo session includes any child or young person (infant through 21 years) that is currently fighting or has fought any of the following: Autism, Alopecia, AIDS, Bell’s Palsy, Cancer, Chiari Malformation, Cystic Fibrosis, Cerebral Palsy, CHD, Childhood Stroke, Severe Diabetes, Down Syndrome, HIV, Immune System Disorders and Diseases, Kidney Disease, Muscular Dystrophy, Neurocutaneous Syndromes, Osteogenesis Imperfecta, Shaken Baby Syndrome, Sickle Cell Anemia, Spina Bifida, Tay-Sachs Disease, and other serious childhood illnesses and life-altering disabilities. Don’t worry if your child’s illness is not listed, this is just a basic list. ITA also offers sessions for Angel Families (families who have lost a child due to illness). They ask that these sessions be done within 3 years of your angel’s passing.

Additionally, I am a volunteer photographer with The F.I.L.M. Project (Family Images for Lasting Memories), an organization where photographers gift professional family portraits to cancer patients and their families during their most fragile time. Having lost a friend to liver cancer very suddenly last year and having another friend be diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer (now in remission!), I am acutely aware how important photographs are when cancer touches a family. You can apply for a F.I.L.M session HERE.

The F.I.L.M. Project

I am wanting to devote much more time in 2013 and beyond to philanthropic work, so I sincerely hope that you apply for a session and ask for Holly Anissa Photography to be your photographer. Having a child with special needs myself and realizing how quickly life can change when cancer hits, I want to give you precious family photos that will become treasured memories as the years go by. Please share this information with your own friends and family, and encourage them to do the same. Thank you so very much… please hug your loved ones. <3
