Mosquito Hawk Macro

The mosquito hawks are out in abundance with all the rain we’ve had lately. This little guy made his way into my mom’s house last weekend and was chilling on her chair.  He was very kind to stay put while I ran home to get my Brolly Box and Speedlite.

This insect is also known as the crane fly, mosquito eater, skeeter eater, gallinipper, and gollywhopper.

Look at the cilia on his antennae and his face. His eye is pretty amazing too. So cool!

I said my thanks to him after I got some shots and we gently scooted him outside. I super puffy heart macro!!!
