Sunday Photowalk, Town Lake Pedestrian Bridge

Dominic is feeling better so we loaded up the kids and headed out for our first family photowalk of the new year this afternoon. Curtis and I tried to a photowalk every Sunday last year but we really only averaged about one a month. Today we went downtown and walked on the Town Lake Pedestrian Bridge. We had never been there before! It’s super cool to stand over the Colorado River and look down over the water. I took several lenses with me which I don’t usually do and I’m so glad I did! It was very overcast, gray, and a bit chilly.

This first shot was taken with my wide angle, Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8. This is from the center of the bridge looking toward downtown.

There were dozens of pigeons everywhere. This one flew down to pose for me, wasn’t that nice of him? Taken with my 85mm f/1.8.

Dominic wasn’t feeling 100% but he was a trooper. He starts counseling and therapy this week.

I’ve missed photographing him. He’s always such a willing subject and so sweet too. I’m digging the lines in this image.

There’s my sweet boy.

Anna really enjoyed looking at the ducks and canoes on the water.

The train trestle across the way had some pretty cool grafitti. I have no idea how the artists managed to get it there!

Same image, but taken with my wide angle.

There were a few flower gardens along the bridge, so I put my macro lens on to get this image. Aren’t the colors pretty?

As we were heading back to the car, something about this composition really grabbed me, so I got in the middle of the street to get this shot.

And another comparison with the wide angle. I love Austin!

Thanks for taking a look! Now to dig into those older folders sitting on my hard drive. 😉
