Family Vacation Photos from Branson

I’m so very behind in sharing personal photos (yes, I take a lot of pictures!). I’ve been slowly going through my personal stash month by month and have several events to share, one of which is our family vacation to Branson, Missouri that we took in July. Curtis, Anna, Dominic, and I drove to Branson and the kids did great! Much better than we hoped for, in fact. Curtis and I listened to comedy radio on Pandora and the kids played on the iPhone or the DS. We met my father-in-law (Grandpa) and his wife, Mick. My sister-in-law (Shelley), her husband (John), and their kids (Christopher, Laura, Myles, and Lexi) also met us there. We hadn’t seen everyone in two years!

We stayed at a family resort type of place that had a huge buffet restaurant building with indoor mini-golf, an ice cream shop, and a theater as well as the restaurant, an indoor water park, an amusement Chuck-E-Cheese type of place, and 4 separate hotel buildings. It was huge! On the first day, we went to Silver Dollar City, an amusement park. The second day we went outlet mall shopping and swimming in the indoor waterpark. The third day we went sightseeing, saw the Titanic Museum and played at the play place at our resort. I took 300+ photos, edited about 100 of them and will be sharing just a few here.

Curtis, Dominic, and our nephew, Myles, hanging out in our hotel room. They each had a screen in front of their face.

Anytime we go to a park with a map, Dominic has to be in charge of the map. Here we are at Silver Dollar City and he took a soda cap to mark our place.

I have no idea how Curtis talked Anna into going on this log ride, but she did it! Their faces were completely in the dark in this photo but I shot RAW and was able to recover the detail (even the gum in Curtis’s mouth, oy).

Anna was having a rough time so Daddy made her sit a minute and talk. She had been obsessing about getting a Fur-Real Friend kitty cat and Grandpa heard her and said he would get her one sometime on the trip (late birthday gift). Well she got so excited that she couldn’t think about anything else. She ended up in tears several times because she didn’t want to wait. Poor baby.

Myles, modeling a crab hat at Silver Dollar City. *snort*

Dominic, the crab head.

Dominic and Lexie hiding out under a giant t-shirt in an outlet store.

One of the local restaurants, The Great American Steak and Chicken House. This was a GIANT chicken.

Curtis insisted I get a photo of him under the giant rooster and wants to hold a caption contest. I think you can imagine what was running through his mind?

Our resort had an indoor water park. The kids loved this!

Dominic eating a chocolate covered pretzel from the ice cream shop in the resort where we stayed.

Anna eating some ice cream.

Dominic, the fish head. I guess he has a thing for animal hats, ha ha!

Our nephew, Myles, modeling some Elvis glasses!

View of the scenery near the dam. We visited a fish hatchery too.

Some of the ducks floating on the river near Grandpa’s camp site.

Dominic laying down on Grandpa’s chest. Can I get an “awww”? I wish he lived closer so we could see him more often.

Curtis bought me a Dr. Doofenshmirtz doll from the Disney outlet store. Unfortunately, my niece (age 4) got hold of it and broke his head off! But I still managed to have fun playing with it. 🙂

Grandpa, Dominic, and Daddy on our last night in Branson. Dominic got a teddy bear with his tickets from the play place.

Thanks for looking! I’m hopeful we can go on more family vacations now that the kids are older. We really did have fun!
