Project 52, week 19

The year is flying by! The kids only have 3 weeks of school left until summer break. Eeep! This week was Anna’s Special Olympics awards ceremony where she walked the stage to get her certificate. She did so well and we were bursting with parental pride! I also attended and photographed a birthday party for my neighbor and friend, Renee, who is fighting stage 4 breast cancer that has metastasized to her lungs and bone. She is one of the strongest women I’ve ever met and I love her sparkling spirit. I’m hoping she’ll let me post a few photos later. (Ahem, Renee… hint hint, wink wink, nudge nudge.)

The photo below I snapped today. I think I’ve mentioned that our neighbors have a 2-year old little girl named Hallie and an infant named Lola. Their aunt, Holly, watches them on MWF and they come over to play often. Today, Holly had to run back up the street to get another bottle for Lola and I played with Hallie while she was gone. After a few minutes, she realized that her aunt was gone and wanted to go meet her so Dominic volunteered to walk her home. Isn’t this so sweet? Dominic is very gentle with Hallie and even cuter with Lola. I had no idea he would be an awesome big brother type of boy. It makes my heart melt. <3
